Our Mission

Presented by Bryant Mitchell of Blaqstar Farms and a team of cannapreneurs, as well as advocates.

We are excited to embark on the journey of educating people of color about the cannabis business, new Hemp laws and why it is so important that we don’t get left behind as more opportunities open up as deregulation happens. We want to be at the forefront as advocates for POC sharing our own in-depth knowledge and experience.

We are also cognizant of the legal disparities in place that have directly affected our community and want to help bridge the gap towards rectifying and restoring our local communities by providing information and tools for those interested in pursuing advocacy, as well as decriminalization of the of marijuana.

Gabrielle deculus

Marketing Executive and Creator of WeedforWomen + Business Rules for Women

Gabrielle Deculus is no rookie to taking on challenges and answering the needs of the people. In her early years, she learned the importance of hard work, family, and serving others. Starting her entrepreneurship journey in 2008, was a game-changer for her. She took the trifecta of going to school, working to pay bills, and building a business as an advantage rather than a struggle.

Since then, she has earned herself a reputation for delivering results! For nearly a decade; Gabrielle has gained experience in branding, marketing, public relations, and social media while keep people at the center of her work.  As a former Development Director for Habitat for Humanity, Gabrielle was instrumental in the management of all marketing, grants, and fundraising projects in South Atlanta, including Rick Ross’ Fulton County Community Initiative. Gabrielle was recognized by Beyonce’s Beygood Foundation and Essence Magazine for her efforts in raising over $30,000 for flood damage and mobilizing recovery efforts in South Louisiana. She is also a facilitator for the Ignite Social Change Retreat, a weekend event for changemaking college students from across the country, a program of Sullivan Foundation.

Gabrielle’s latest entrepreneurial accomplishment, Saint Josephine, is a marketing consulting firm for social good. She created this firm to house her brands, serve her clients, and build a space for partnerships to develop. One of the brands -- Business Rules for Women (BRFW) just celebrated a 240k follower milestone, now reaching success-driven women on 6 different continents. The BRFW online network distributes unique content to over 2 million viewers per month.

She also recently accepted an Executive Marketing role at New Orleans-based behavioral health tech company,Trusted Provider Network (TPN), where she is preparing for their Beta platform to launch in August 2019. TPN helps improve the connectivity of licensed clinicians and treatment centers so that more people can be served in the local community and beyond.

Gabrielle is just getting started! Being a socially conscious brand isn't a trend, it's the best new way to do business.

Tess melody taylor

Founder/CEO,  Taylor + Tess

I am a 26-year-old military brat born and currently living in Dallas,
Texas. I started a plant-based, CBD skincare line in September 2018
that is inspired by my Marine Corps and Army veteran parents who
have used non-psychoactive cannabis topicals for severe and
chronic pain. I hope to destigmatize safe cannabis use so more
people can find their way to holistic, natural healing. CBD is great
for pain relief and a plethora of other things, but it can also do
wonders for your skin! This intersection between beauty and hemp
will allow us to share our purpose with a broader audience.

Our mission is to fill gaps in the beauty and cannabis markets with a
clean and inclusive CBD skincare line “for women, men, neither and
both®”. Unity, intersectionality, visibility and inclusivity bridges gaps
in society and affects change for all marginalized groups. My team
is comprised of women, men, minorities and LGBTQIA+ because the
table always has more to offer when the person to the left and the
right looks and thinks differently than you. We are stronger together.
TAYLOR + tess skincare products are vegan, toxic-free, and
manufactured in labs in Texas and California. Our ‘in the Buff’
cleansing bar is handmade in Texas. We use the highest-quality
cannabidiol on the market from hemp grown in California, Kentucky
and Colorado. Our products include CBD in isolate and fullspectrum
form to cater to the specific needs of each T+t product.

Our products are for all pigments and types of skin. We don’t market
to race, gender, or sexuality. We market to the largest organ of the
human body: your skin.

We are excited to embark on the journey of educating people of color about the cannabis business, new Hemp laws and why it is so important that we don’t get left behind as more opportunities open up as deregulation happens. We want to be at the forefront as advocates for POC sharing our own in-depth knowledge and experience.
